At this stage there are no data available on-line, but this will change as all projects in the first phase are completed. These projects are summarized below.

Facilitating Data Fusion within the Urban Flood Demonstration Program

PI: Scott Bassett, DRI; Co-PI: Doug Boyle, DRI; COE Collaborators: Christopher Dunn, USACE-HEC; Robert Wallace, USACE ERDC

The Urban Flood Demonstration Program (UFDP) is intended to assist in the development of flood control and channel restoration measures in arid and semi-arid urban areas. Due to the complex associations of anthropogenic and natural influenced hydrologic regions, an integrated approach is required to address urban flooding and channel restoration issues. The success of this approach hinges on the collaboration between research scientists funded to do specific tasks within demonstration sites and the ability for scientists to utilize geospatial information as seamlessly as possible. Data fusion as a concept helps direct the integration of complementary data sets by producing an operational framework which directs the flow of research among researchers utilizing models to produce results highlighting points of interaction and determining the best means for integration.

Technology Transfer

PI: John Warwick, DRI; Co-PIs: Shawn Benner, Doug Boyle, Jennifer Duan, DRI; COE Collaborators : Meg Jonas, USACE ERDC

All projects associated with the DRI/USACE Urban Flooding and Channel Restoration in Arid and Semi-Arid Regions Demonstration Program (UFDP) will have important practical significance to local entities (e.g. USACE district offices, counties, and cities) with the need for meaningful technology transfer. Effective technology transfer should be an ongoing operation rather than an end-of-project afterthought.
